The bodies of at least two maintenance workers have been recovered from a sewerage pit behind a hotel at the V&A Waterfront. The City’s Fire Services says their team had to don Class B hazmat suits as the pit was filled with toxic gasses. The bodies were retrieved separately after an operation that lasted for around five hours. Police are investigating the incident.
