A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 12-year-old girl in Beacon Valley, Mitchells Plain. The suspect was apprehended in Eastridge by the Anti-Gang Unit. The Grade 7 Ieglaasi Nieyah Primary School learner was struck by a stray bullet while waiting for her scholar transport on Tuesday morning. Rival gangs were apparently involved in a gun battle.Firdous Kleinsmidt janazah is taking place this afternoon in Lentegeur.
