The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has dismissed Heathfield High School principal Wesley Neumann.
On Wednesday, Neumann posted the Final Sanction letter emailed to him by the WCED’s Mrs. R Raubenheimer. The now-former principal faced six charges after refusing to reopen the school during the heart of the Covid-19 pandemic. Learners, staff, and parents have protested the heavy-handed approach of the Western Cape Education Department and highlighted the discriminatory policies of the City of Cape Town in dealing with Cape Flats schools.
