Three mass shootings have rocked the Cape Flats since Sunday, with the latest occurring in Lentegeur this morning. In that incident, unknown suspects, travelling in two vehicles, opened fire on the occupants of an e-hailing Honda sedan at the intersection of Merrydale Avenue and Highlands Drive. The Anti-Gang Unit detectives are probing the fatal shooting of the e-hailing driver and his two passengers.
This as two people were shot and killed in Valhalla Park yesterday, with a 14-year-old injured in the incident.
And on Sunday night, police are investigating a mass shooting in Better Life, in Philippi East. Three men between the ages of 28 and 39 were shot and killed, while a fourth person was wounded. According to police spokesperson, Colonel Andrè Traut, the men were consuming alcohol at a residence when assailants entered the premises and opened fire.
